5.5-magnitude quake hits hard Quezon province

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Quezon province early Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

The tectonic tremor occurred at 4:52 a.m. at a depth of 7 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town.

It was felt in parts of Metro Manila, Camarines Norte, Pampanga, and nearby provinces, according to Phivolcs.
Intensity 4, which may feel like a passing of heavy truck and cause hanging objects to swing considerably, was reported in Guinayangan, Quezon.
Marikina City, Navotas City and Quezon City experienced intensity 2 or "slight felt" shaking while Muntinlupa City had intensity 1 or "scarcely perceptible" shaking.
