Quezon National High School’s General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA) installed 32 new closed-circuit television(CCTV) camera units to avoid the high cases of theft, bullying and gambling cases in the school.

P280,000 was spent for the installation of CCTV project out of P450,000 earned since last year which also included the production of 20 tables and 200 chairs donated to all science
classes.
The said amount for this project came from the P200 voluntary contribution of the QNHS students and the P150 entrance fee from different film showing such as “Maestra” showed last year and “Free Range” that was viewed last July 29.
From last year’s eight-installed CCTV units, two were left functioning and the remaining six were thrown away.
The surveillance monitor is housed in the principal’s office where Mr. Jojo Apeloqio, Grace Gadavillo, Haidee Kled and Mela Mel are responsible for monitoring it.
The new CCTV units helped a lot in terms of lost and found items, cases of theft, bullying, gambling and negative behavior of students especially cutting classes.
Aside from this, it also lessens the guidance counselor work to monitor those who were usually involved in some cases such as stealing of cellphones and bags.
“Maganda sya, malaki ang naitulong nito sa kaayusan ng ating paaralan natin. Yung mga ayaw umamin ng kasalanan nila, napapaamin sila kapag kita nilang monitored sila. In terms of drug users naman, nabawasan ito di katulad last year na sobrang dami, kung meron pa man, may mga naguuli naman tayong mga security guards,” Dr. Feliza Quevada, principal of QNHS, said.
